Class Experience

Welcome to Alef-Bet music & movement! Each week, we will focus on a new letter. Through songs, stories, creative movement & instrument play, your learners will gain confidence in their Hebrew alphabet skills. Because each week focuses on different letters, learners can join in at any time and won't miss out since once we finish the alef-bet, we will cycle round again!
*If there are fewer than 3 learners enrolled for any given week, class will be cancelled for that particular week and you will be refunded. A decision will be made at least 24 hours in advance as per Outschool policy.*

Learners are welcome to bring paper, markers, crayons, white boards, or anything else to try writing our letter of the week. If your learner isn't ready to write, that's ok - we also do lots of tracing letters in the air! We will talk about what the letters look like and look for tricks to remember them. We also talk about the sounds they make and what words start with those letters.

*If you're looking for a class that is more vocabulary, writing, and speaking, please check out my other Hebrew - Alef-Bet class for ages 5-9. If you're not sure which class to enroll in, please contact me prior to enrolling.*

NEW CLASS BEGINS MAY 1:
May 1 - Alef, Bet/Vet
May 8 - Gimmel/Daled
May 15 - Hey/Vov/Zayin
May 22 - Chet/Tet
May 29 - Yud/Kaf/Chaf
June 5 - Lamed/Mem

This class is meant as an introduction to the Hebrew alef-bet/aleph-bet for our youngest learners. I will provide weekly colouring sheets in the classroom related to the letter of the week, as well as a list of vocab words we learned/talked about.
**Please note that no previous Hebrew language experience is needed for this class. All that is required is a willingness to learn & have fun while doing so!**
**This class will be taught in English but we will incorporate Hebrew words that use our letter of the week, and our songs will also incorporate some Hebrew.**
Learning Goals
Learners will cover all the letters of the Alef-Bet, one per week.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I could tell you about my qualifications, but that alone won't tell you who I am. I have a MMus. in Violin Performance, B.Mus. in Violin Performance, and BA in French. I have been teaching for over 30 years and thankfully still love it!

I currently offer violin, viola, piano, French, and Hebrew classes. My educational philosophy is guided by the main principle of my 25 years as a licensed Kindermusik educator: "Follow the child" - if learners are engaged and having fun, not only will they retain the information but they will want to learn and progress more!
