Class experience
This Harry Potter themed class is a social group/book discussion centered around our favorite fan theories and speculations! In our discussions, we will use the seven books of the Harry Potter canon to guide our conversations. In doing so, students will not only get to share their ideas with other members of the Potter fandom, but they will apply the useful skill of incorporating text evidence to support an idea about a work of literature. I am certified in 7-12th grade English, Language Arts, and Reading with ten years of experience in the high school English classroom. I have been an avid Harry Potter fan since the year 2000. That's almost a quarter of a century in the Wizarding World! Unfortunately, I did not receive my Hogwarts letter due to Voldemort destroying the records of Muggle-born witches and wizards born before 1998 during his second rise to power.
Students should have read the seven Harry Potter books (Cursed Child is not required). Students are welcome to join if they have not finished the series, but they should be aware of spoilers.
