1:1 AP Literature and Composition Test Prep & Tutoring | AP Certified Teacher

In these 1:1 sessions, AP Literature students will receive individualized tutoring to prepare for the AP Literature College Board exam. Students will receive guided practice on the multiple-choice Q's and feedback on the writing portions.

Examples of material covered in a tutoring session: 

📚 Guided practice with Section I: Multiple Choice 
➼ Teacher and learner read together sample multiple choice questions from a literary passage. 
➼ Learner discerns the correct answer, providing rationale for the correct and incorrect answers, and accompanied by discussion with the teacher. 


📚 Guided practice with Section II: Free Response Questions 
➼ Teacher provides assistance with outlining and constructing a thesis statement 
➼ Teacher offers feedback for improvement on practice FRQ compositions 


📚 Book Discussion: AP Literature Reading List 
➼ Learner and Teacher engage in a discussion of a novel assigned in the AP Literature classroom to facilitate clarity and understanding 
➼ Teacher guides Learner in brainstorming how this novel could potentially be applied to a hypothetical FRQ question on the AP Exam 


AP Literature was my favorite subject to teach when I was in the brick-and-mortar classroom, and I'm excited to help Outschool learners be successful in this course and the exam!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of the literary terms applicable to the AP exam, their understanding of how exam scoring works, and how to reach their fullest potential on the exam. Students will also enhance their ability to read a work of literature through multiple different literary lenses.
