This is a private tutoring session, good for ages 4-18. The parent/student should provide me with a list of areas to focus on. Areas of focus may include grammar, spelling, vocabulary, sentence structure, outlining, research, and figuring out what to write about. The student should come to class with a piece of writing that we can discuss and edit. We will start the first session with a short introduction about goals and areas for improvement. Then we will begin editing a writing sample. During the editing process, I will evaluate the student's skill level and areas for improvement. We will work down a writing checklist and offer guidance throughout. After class, the student will receive guidance on how to improve his or her writing skills along with setting goals for the future.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Grand Valley State University
I teach music classes for the ukulele, guitar, and harmonica. I teach classes about writing, debating, and creating logical arguments without fallacies. I have a small farm and live in a yurt in western Colorado. My wife, Brooke VanDyke, is an excellent ukulele teacher on Outschool as well.
I enjoy connecting with each student and adapting my teaching style to best fit his or her needs.
