Homework can be provided, but it is not required. Homework will be to read passages provided by the teacher. The student will also be asked to answer questions and/or provide a summary of the reading passage.

Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
This is a tailored 1-1 weekly reading tutor session. The topics and curriculum depend on the desires of the parent and the needs of the student. Please send a message after enrolling with some background information about your student, your expectations, and goals. Are there any strengths or weaknesses that will help me tailor the lesson? Here are some topics we can cover during these classes. 

- Reading comprehension
- Pronunciation
- Spelling
- Writing
- Grammar
- Finding details 
- Answering questions about stories
- Homework (optional) - I know some students may already have enough homework while others can benefit from having some more English homework to complete between sessions. Please let me know if you would like your learner to be assigned weekly homework. I do not provide grades but can do so upon request.

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to read, retain, and comprehend information from reading passages. They will be able to answer questions and provide summaries of the reading text.

Learning Needs
The reading tutor has worked successfully with students who have ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. If your student has special learning needs, contact the teacher with information and suggestions for the lesson.
Pre-Requisites
All students are welcome in class and there are no prerequisites.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
