This is a highly interactive class. Students will be provided the texts/activities ahead of time, and they should be printed ahead of time for use during our sessions. The pages will also be displayed on their screen so we can do guided annotations to help them follow along. I teach in a very encouraging, growth mindset-oriented environment. I scaffold learning in an "I do, we do, you do" format so students have all the support they need with plenty of opportunity for individual practice.

Skill practice
Students will practice synonyms/antonyms, inferences, and theme. 30 mins online live lesson

First read
Students will complete a reading of a graphic novel while making guided notes/annotations for comprehension. 30 mins online live lesson

Supply List
Students will be provided with a multi-page document that is to be printed before the first session. They will also need a writing utensil.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
