Going on a Bear Hunt: Counting Objects 1-10, Movement and Math
In this high energy class, we will try to find the bear on our bear hunt while learning counting skills and number recognition. This class incorporates movement along the hunt! (Flying, crawling, stomping, etc)

In this one time class (that may be taken several times for practice and fun!!) your child will practice counting objects while trying to find a bear on a bear hunt. The class incorporates running, crawling, flying, and a great deal of searching for the bear. We will discuss animals and objects you might see while searching for a bear in the woods, all while working on number recognition and counting. This class is high energy, silly, and engaging, so have your water bottle nearby!! After this class, you may have the 'We're going on a bear hunt' chant stuck in your head!
Learning Goals
Students will learn to recognize the numerals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Students will learn to count objects 1-10.

Hello friends! I'm Mrs. Walker and I live in Nashville, Tennessee - Music City, USA! I'm so excited to teach literacy classes on Outschool! I enjoy teaching students how to read and to become confident in the areas of reading and writing. I teach classes involving letter names and sounds, oral reading fluency, nonsense words, and interactive read aloud stories to promote strong literacy skills.
As a former kindergarten, first grade, third grade, and English Learner educator, I have a great deal of experience and exciting teaching strategies to bring to the virtual classroom. With a Bachelor's Degree from UNC Charlotte and a Master's Degree from Lipscomb University, along with ongoing continuing education, I am current on innovative teaching and learning methods for the whole child.
This brings me to my next point! I believe in teaching the whole child! I find that when children are supported socially and emotionally, cognitive learning then takes place. This is why I always check in with my students to see how they are feeling and incorporate social and emotional learning in my lessons. I believe the classroom should be a fun and exciting place. High energy is my style!
Want to know some fun things about me?! I'm a mom! My daughter was born on Thanksgiving Day in 2019. She's my little turkey. I have a very smart husband who is an engineer and we also have two beagles. On the weekends, we enjoy going camping, watching football, and visiting the zoo.Reviews
