In this one time session learners will be introduced to TinkerCad, free 3D design software, and create their first 3D project. This is a great introduction to a valuable STEM software.
Class experience
In this exciting course learners will be oriented with TinkerCad 3D design software and learn the very basics of manipulating shapes to create something using the 3D design process. This TinkerCAD is the basic software that will build skills necessary to master more advanced and professional software such as Fusion 360 and AutoCAD. Students will be able to manipulate 3D shapes to create a model of a house using TinkerCad.
Mrs. Fimbel has taught thousands of students over the last 10 years and is adept at smoothing over the unexpected. However, it is always best of parents give a little reminder prior to the start of class. Mrs. Fimbel has taught TinkerCad to elementary students for several years and recently presented TinkerCad to teachers in conjunction with a Board Game design project at the Texas Computer Educators Association convention.
Homework Offered
Students will be encouraged to continue to create on TinkerCad and to discover how TinkerCad can be used to design for Minecraft. Older learners will also be encouraged to explore the library of 3D examples.Assessments Offered

Students may need parent approval to create an account on https://www.tinkercad.com/ and will need to be logged in before class starts. There are a lot of items in the library of 3D designs. Because the library is open source it is similar to a google search in that something unexpected could pop up. Please discuss with your learner before the start of class appropriate things to search for and what to do if something unexpected comes up. (close the browser and log back into a fresh TinkerCad page.
