Homework
Some students may choose to build and create between classes. This will be supported during a show and tell time at the beginning of class.
Assessment
No formal assessment unless requested by the learner or their adult. Informal assessments on progress and areas of improvement will be made so the teacher can focus feedback and quick demonstrations to helps learners improve their skills with TinkerCAD.

Class Experience

In this course, learners will have the opportunity to build and share their creations made in TinkerCAD with each other and the teacher.  There will be no directed builds, but rather learners will be invited to share their work or ideas for builds and ask questions to the teacher about TinkerCad or invite other learners to make suggestions or give feedback on their models.  Learners will utilize the Harvard Protocol to offer each other feedback in a positive way.  Learners are welcome to discuss other topics and interests as part of the class.  Each week there will be a theme for learners to create if they choose, however, learners can build and share outside of the theme if they desire as creativity is encouraged.  

Week 1 July 4th: Landmarks
Week 2 July 11th:  Personal Penguins
Week 3 July 18th: Vehicles
Week 5 July 25th:  Movie inspirations

Learning Goals

Learners will interact in a social environment while practicing sharing about their projects, giving and receiving feedback, and participating in group discussions.  Learners will also have the chance to improve their skills with TinkerCAD through practice and question and answer sessions.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Because this is a social class learners will be encouraged to discuss topics of interest. Effort will be made to help learners advocate for themselves and to keep an open and inclusive mind. However, since the topics will be student lead there may be topics of disagreement. Mrs. Fimbel has taught for over 10 years and is skilled at keeping topics appropriate. However, it is recommended you speak with your learner about how to speak up if they feel the topic is not appropriate or unsettling to them.
Supply List
Please make sure you can access your account at TinkerCAD.com youth accounts can take as long as a week to verify and process.  Please make sure your learner has created their account and can log in before class. 

Use of an external mouse is recommended.

Mrs. Fimbel has been a teacher for over a decade and is well versed in managing students and social topics and creating a welcoming environment. Mrs. Fimbel has taught TinkerCAD for several years and has presented it's use at the Texas Computer Teachers Association convention in 2019.
