US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
This is a fun class to help students understand how everyday things we take for granted can have an interesting, geographical story behind them. Students will have a map worksheet that we will complete together as the international story of chocolate is explained during the class. Throughout the story, we will be discussing history, world geography and, of course chocolate in its various guises. Students will have a chance to answer questions orally and on the shared whiteboard. Students will be asked to come to the session with one or two pieces of chocolate so that we can practice meditative eating and even let that experience become a piece of fun art or writing. The idea of fair and ethical trade will be introduced. I like to give everyone a chance to participate in whichever way suits them. I always provide a safe, supportive learning environment. Please feel free to message me to request times that work well for you, and I will do my best to offer additional sessions. Thanks!
