US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
This is a fun class to help students understand how everyday things we take for granted can have an interesting, geographical story behind them. Students will have a map worksheet that we will complete together as the international story of pizza is explained during the class. Throughout the story, we will be discussing history, world geography and, of course pizza. Students will have a chance to answer questions orally and on the shared whiteboard. Toward the end, we will have a mini debate about the best pizza toppings allowing for opinions to be formulated and presented for those who are comfortable. I like to give everyone a chance to participate in whichever way suits them. I always provide a safe, supportive learning environment.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the following:
world continents, oceans, a few countries, the spice trade and map making
