In this one-time 45-minute class, students will learn how the world's favorite fast food came to be. Students will make a map and practice their world geography. Other activities will include a flag quiz and a fun debate about toppings.

Beginner Level
This is a fun class to help students understand how everyday things we take for granted can have an interesting, geographical story behind them. Students will have a map worksheet that we will complete together as the international story of pizza is explained during the class. Throughout the story, we will be discussing history, world geography and, of course pizza. Students will have a chance to answer questions orally and on the shared whiteboard. Toward the end, we will have a mini debate...
Students will learn the following: world continents, oceans, a few countries, the spice trade and map making
BA in geography and a UK teaching certification to teach geography. I have taught geography for 8 years covering everything from map skills to economic world development.
2 files available upon enrollmentIf possible, the map worksheet should be printed. A pencil and eraser would be useful.
A world map would be helpful but we will also use an online version of this.
