In this class students will learn learn how to change mixed numbers to improper fractions. The students will also learn how to change improper fractions to mixed numbers. Students in this class should know how to multiply numbers. The lesson will begin with a review of the multiplication facts. Next, using slides I will go over the following vocabulary words with examples: mixed numbers and improper fractions. Then, using Zoom whiteboard I will model how to change an improper fraction to a mixed number using the I do, we do, you do strategy. The students will be given many opportunities to show understanding of this skill by solving problems on the whiteboard. Next, using Zoom whiteboard I will model how to change mixed numbers to improper fractions using the I do, we do, you do strategy. Again, the students will be given many opportunities to show understanding of this skill by solving problems on the whiteboard. The students will interact with me using slides and Zoom whiteboard and discussion.

I have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and I have been teaching for 19 years in a public elementary school. Currently I am a Math Coach in my district and I am pursing my Education Specialist Degree in Elementary Education.
I am married with 5 wonderful children of my own ages 31, 26, 22, and twins age 20 (one is deceased).
My teaching philosophy is simple. I believe that ALL children can learn when exposed to the right teacher and the right learning environment. It is my job to make their learning educational and fun.
