1 hour per week. Homework will be assigned each day for students to complete. Homework is optional but it is beneficial to the overall success of the student. Each homework assignment should only take about 30 minutes to complete. It is best to complete each assignment after class.Certificate of Completion

This is a small group 5th Grade Math class. There will only be 10 students in each class. This class is a good fit for students that have completed 4th Grade Math and want to get a head start for the next school term. This class is also a good fit for students that have completed 5th Grade Math but want to review those critical skills taught during the school year. Lessons will be taught using the Zoom whiteboard. I will be using the I do, we do, you do strategy for the lessons. The students will be given individual time to complete problems on the whiteboard to show understanding. ***At the end of class, the students will participate in a review using Kahoot games. This is a fun way for the students to show what they have learned.*** The classes taught will be: 1. Fractions: Improper fractions and mixed numbers 2. Fractions: Add/subtract fractions with unlike denominators 3. Fractions: Add/subtract mixed numbers 4. Fractions: Subtraction w/renaming 5. Multiply Fractions: Part of a group 6. Fraction and whole number multiplication 7. Compare fraction factors and products 8. Fraction multiplication 9. Area and mixed numbers 10. Review/Assessment ***Students will not be transferred to different sections once class has started. The class recording will be available for any missed classes.***

Students in this class will learn how to change improper fraction to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions using models and the standard algorithm. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
Fractions: Add/Subtract Fractions w/Unlike Denominators
In this lesson students will learn how to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators using models and equivalent fractions. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Fractions: Add/Subtract Mixed Numbers
In this lesson students will learn how to add and subtract mixed numbers. 45 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Fractions: Subtraction w/Renaming
In this lesson students will learn how to subtract mixed numbers that require regrouping. 45 mins online live lesson
