Flex Class How to Compete in a Model Horse Show With Your Favorite Toy Horses.

In this class we will learn how to show our Model or Toy horses in a Live Model Horse Show or Photo Model Horse Show. On the last week we will have our own model and toy horse show.

Homework
1-2 hours per week. Students will need to work on the project for the week and upload their work to the classroom by Friday.

Class Experience

In this Flex class students will learn how to show model and toy horses.  Each week we will talk about different ways to show our toy or model horses.  We will go over  how to present your horse in a live show or a photo show.  Students will work in teams to create photos, videos, and props. Students will share their favorite model or toy horses with the class with videos or photos. 

I can also schedule a private session of this flex classes if you have 2 or more student interested in taking the class together.

The last week of class we will hold a virtual toy or model horse show.  Students can earn up to 3 different certificates from the horse show by winning in different categories.   Students will vote on the winners for each prize category.   Best fantasy horse ( Unicorn, Pegasus, Alicorn) , Best performance horse ( Western and English), best horse of a breed, best plain photo, best action photo, over all class favorite, Best Horse type creature (centaur, kelpie, sea horse, mermaid horse, etc.)  


All types of Horses, Pegasus, Unicorns, and other horse type creatures are welcome. 

 Students will learn how to compete in a Model horse show. We will go over the different parts of a live model horse show.  We will learn the different kinds of pictures we can take for a photo show .  Students will be able to discuss ideas for  different ways to showcase their horses and help each other with problem solving. Students will work in teams to talk about their horses and create video and photo projects.  

Why a flex class? 
* Flexible schedule classes are wonderful for families who have busy schedules or are sometimes unable to commit to a certain day or time. 
* Learners from all time zones may participate 
* Videos may be paused or re-watched at any time. 
* If any questions arise, the instructor is just an email away.

The class offers a series of prerecorded videos that you will have access to, as well as individualized assessments of their work and the opportunity to share their work with fellow learners. Students will be given an assignment every week.  Positive comments on other students work is encouraged. Students will use team work to learn skills.

Each week the students will receive a video and assignment.  

Each Monday I will post a video with the assignment  of the week. Students should have their projects submitted by Friday Night. Teacher will give feedback on Saturday or Sunday.


Week 1: How to get ready for a live show.  Share one or more of your horses, Pegasus, Unicorns or horse type creatures with the class. You may post a video or photo.  Students will work together to talk about breed choices.  Students work together to learn about showing their models and choosing breeds for models.  

Week 2: What are the different kinds of photos for photos shows? Post one or more photos of your Horses, Pegasus, Unicorns or horse type creature with the class. classroom.  Students will work in teams to vote on what they think is the best picture in both the plain and action categories from real photo shows.   

Week 3: How to make props for your horses for the performance categories for live and photo shows. I will show serval simple crafts you can make for your horses.  Share something you made with the class.  Students will create props for the photo shoots.  Students can share ideas and crafts they have made in the classroom with the rest of the class. 

Some craft supplies you might want: white glue or PVA glue,  Popsicle sticks large or small, flat craft sticks or wooden coffee stirs, Empty plastic Jello or pudding cups,  ribbon, paper or felt,  washi tape or masking tape, paint, pencils/ paper lollipop sticks or round dowel rods.

Week 4: We share and show our horses in the classroom. Students will vote on the winners for each prize category.   Best fantasy horse ( Unicorn, Pegasus, Alicorn) , Best performance horse ( Western and English), best horse of a breed, best plain photo, best action photo, over all class favorite, Best Horse type creature (centaur, kelpie, sea horse, mermaid horse, etc.)

 I love to teach different age groups.  I will be teaching classes for the Dungeons and Dragons story telling game. These story driven classes are great for learning  Math skills, Reading skills, Writing, Science, and History. My professional background includes teaching for twenty years.
