Multiplication, Long Division, & Decimals for 6th 7th 8th Grade SUMMER CAMP

📚 CLASS FORMAT: This is a self paced course so you can make it work around your schedule!  There are no live sessions to attend. The class is a review and refresh of the major 4th and 5th grade concepts of multiplication, long multiplication, long division, decimals basics & operations.

I post 2 video lessons (~15-20 min each) every week that learners can watch on demand.  Learners are given assignments to compliment each video lesson and practice each concept. Answer keys are provided.  One weekly assessment will be given & learners submit it to me for feedback.

There is an optional 3rd video (~5-10 min) each week where I will briefly cover a growth mindset idea or concept to get students ready to learn!  Students need to foster their growth mindset to know they can learn anything with TIME, EFFORT, & SUPPORT. :) I want to make sure they are building confidence in themselves at the same time they are building math skills.

We will communicate through the Outschool classroom.  Learners will be able to reach out to me with questions at any point.  I will reach out about once a week for 6 weeks to check in.

📌 REQUIRED MATH SKILLS: Students should already have been introduced to multiplication, long multiplication, long division and decimals. This class is a review/re-learn style class that assumes they have seen these topics before but need mini lessons, reminders, tips and extra practice to gain mastery. 

📆 SCHEDULE: 

Week 1: Multiplication Facts Review 3,4,6 and 7,8,9
Week 2: Long Multiplication and Estimation (ex: 123 x 456)
Week 3: Long Division (ex: 228 ÷ 16)
Week 4: Long Multiplication & Division Mix and Decimal Basics
Week 5: Rounding Decimals and Adding/Subtracting Decimals (ex: 543.21 + 10.9)
Week 6: Decimal Multiplication and Division (ex: 12.34 x 5.6 & 123.4 ÷ 0.16)

🍎 I am a credentialed math teacher with over a decade of experience teaching middle and high school math.  My first goal is for students to have a positive relationship with math.  Hopefully, I can build up their confidence and lower any stress around the subject.  I try to normalize mistakes and create a low pressure, supportive and fun environment.   I can't wait to help them feel more confident!
