US Grade 7
Welcome to my full-curriculum 7th Grade class! We will work hard all year to build math skills, confidence and growth mindsets. ↔️ FLIPPED CLASS ↔️ This class follows a “flipped model.” Students watch my video lessons the day before our class to get an introduction to the new topic, try it out, and gather questions. They can pause, rewind, and rewatch as needed. The following day in class we will practice the concept with more example problems, independent practice, discussion, activities and games; all with me there to support them as they work. It’s like they have me with them 4 days a week even though we only meet 2 days! Example Weekly Schedule: 🔹Mon: Watch Video Lesson 🔹Tues: Class Meets for Practice & Discussion 🔹Wed: Watch Video Lesson 🔹Thur: Class Meets for Practice & Discussion 🔹Fri: Optional Practice Materials or Assessment Provided 📌 REQUIRED SKILLS 📌 Students should have successfully completed 6th grade math and have a strong command of multiplication/division facts, long division and fraction operations. If they need review of these, I offer a 6 week class to review them. Message me for details. 📢 COURSE FLEXIBILITY 📢 You can choose to pay for this class weekly for added flexibility. This will allow you to give the class a try and make sure it is a good fit for your learner without committing to the entire year with a full payment. Learners can join the class at any time. If you are concerned about joining the class after the August start date please reach out to me and we can discuss how to make sure your learner is up to speed when joining the class. ✏️ IN MY CLASSES ✏️ 🧑🏿🤝🧑🏽 I maintain a small class size to better know & support each student. 📄 I provide printable worksheets for each lesson with plenty of practice problems. My first goal is for students to have a positive relationship with math. Hopefully, I can build up their confidence and lower any stress around the subject. I try to normalize mistakes and create a low pressure, supportive and fun class environment.
I'm a Credentialed Middle and High School Math Teacher with 12 years teaching experience in grades 6 through 10 and a Master’s in Teaching.
I started my career teaching middle school math and then moved up to high school. I love teaching middle school after having taught high school because I have a very clear idea of where they are headed and exactly what they need to succeed in their first years of high school math.
