I will have students take an initial assessment of their skills before the class begins so I can see their current levels and how to best address their needs. We will conclude with the same assessment at the end of the 6 weeks to mark their progress. There will be a weekly assessment that should be submitted to me so I can check progress and provide feedback.Class Experience

If you’d like a copy of an assessment to see if this class would be a good fit for your learner please message me. 📚 CLASS FORMAT: This is a self paced course so you can make it work around your schedule! There are no live sessions to attend. The class is a review and refresh of the major 5th & 6th grade concepts of converting/creating equivalent fractions, adding, subtracting, multiplying & dividing fractions. I post 2 video lessons (~15-20 min each) every week that learners can watch on demand. Learners are given assignments to compliment each video lesson and practice each concept. Answer keys are provided. One weekly assessment will be given & learners submit it to me for feedback. There is an optional 3rd video (~5-10 min) each week where I will briefly cover a growth mindset idea or concept to get students ready to learn! Students need to foster their growth mindset to know they can learn anything with TIME, EFFORT, & SUPPORT. :) I want to make sure they are building confidence in themselves at the same time they are building math skills. We will communicate through the Outschool classroom. Learners will be able to reach out to me with questions at any point. I will reach out once a week for 6 weeks to check in. 📌 REQUIRED MATH SKILLS: Students should already have been introduced to these fraction topics. This class is a review/re-learn style class that assumes they have seen these topics before but need mini lessons, reminders, tips and extra practice to gain mastery. 📆 SCHEDULE: 🔸 Week 1: Equivalent Fractions, Converting Fractions 🔸 Week 2: Compare & Order Fractions 🔸 Week 3: Add & Subtract Fractions 🔸 Week 4: Multiply & Divide Fractions 🔸 Week 5: Word Problems with Fractions 🔸 Week 6: Review 🍎 I am a credentialed math teacher with over a decade of experience teaching middle and high school math. I'm a Credentialed Middle and High School Math Teacher with 12 years teaching experience in grades 6 through 10 and a Master’s in Teaching.
I started my career teaching middle school math and then moved up to high school. I love teaching middle school after having taught high school because I have a very clear idea of where they are headed and exactly what they need to succeed in their first years of high school math.
