Finding Cause and Effect Relationship

This class will introduce the skill of cause and effect to learners.  Because this is an introduction class, no prior knowledge is needed. We will begin by reading a book, If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Laura Joffe Numeroff.  This book demonstrates cause and effect very well.  One thing causes something else to happen. We will determine the cause and effect relationship from the events in the story. Next, the teacher will give students examples of causes to see if they can name an effect to go with each cause.  After we make sure each child has an understanding of this reading skill, we will play a game where the cause is given and the learner has to choose what could possibly be an effect.
