We will learn the correct way to write capital letters in cursive on lined paper. We will also connect the letters we learn to make words. No knowledge of cursive is needed as this is a beginning class.

US Grade 2 - 5
We will begin class by introducing ourselves. I will introduce learners to the proper way of writing capital letters in cursive, including the slanting of letters and paper positioning. Each day I will model cursive letters and provide visual and verbal prompts to the learners as needed. We will learn and practice a few capital letters during each class, one at a time until we are successful (about 5 letters a day and and 6 on the last day). We will practice making them with our fingers first and then independently on lined paper. I will watch their progress and provide feedback when needed as they make their cursive letters. If extra time, we will add some additional practice by making words using the learned cursive letters. Monday = A - E Tuesday = F - J Wednesday = K - O Thursday = P - T Friday = U - Z
Learning Goals
Students will learn to write capital letters in cursive correctly and connect those letters to create words. This will be done by learning 5 new letters each day (6 on the last day).

Supply List
Please bring a pencil and the lined cursive paper (file attached) to class each time. We will do them together in class and students can use them for additional practice also.
