Description
Class Experience
We will begin class by introducing ourselves. I will introduce learners to the proper way of writing capital letters in cursive, including the slanting of letters and paper positioning. Each day I will model cursive letters and provide visual and verbal prompts to the learners as needed. We will learn and practice a few capital letters during each class, one at a time until we are successful (about 5 letters a day and and 6 on the last day). We will practice making them with our fingers...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn to write capital letters in cursive correctly and connect those letters to create words. This will be done by learning 5 new letters each day (6 on the last day). Monday = A - E Tuesday = F - J Wednesday = K - O Thursday = P - T Friday = U - Z
I have taught cursive writing in the third grade for about 15 years. Many children do not continue writing in cursive once they leave the third grade and then the process is often forgotten. Therefore, when they become adults and need to sign papers with their signature, they often don't know how. There are multiple reasons to learn cursive in today's world.
Learners may wish to practice more at home on their own.
1 file available upon enrollmentPlease bring a pencil and the lined cursive paper (file attached) to class each time. We will do them together in class and students can use them for additional practice also.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal feedback will be given to the learner as we make each letter/word to encourage success.
2 hours 55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
