In this private class I will teach financial literacy concepts and can tailor the topics to your learner or learners. Possible topics include personal finance, budgeting, investments, how businesses operate, income statements and more. Once you enroll, I will set the class to private, so no one else will enroll. The price can be split between multiple learners, such as siblings or friends, if requested. Please contact me if you'd like a private link that allows you to split the cost. Example sessions are below: Personal/Family Budget In this session, we will talk about income, types of expenses, mortgages, and taxes. We will create a mock family budget. Personal Borrowing and Saving In this session we will explore different methods of borrowing and savings. This session will give overviews of bank accounts, retirement accounts, investments, credit cards, and loans. Business Overview In this session we will explore the different type of businesses—retail vs. service; online vs. brick and mortar. We will discuss types of transactions and the relationships between employers, employees, and consumers. We can also discuss marketing and targeting consumers. Business Financials In this session, we will learn about income statements. Terms covered will include: revenue, profit, margin, assets and liabilities. We will discuss variable vs. fixed costs, cost of goods sold, and overhead costs.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from Bucknell University
I have virtually tutored over 1,100 young learners on Outschool since 2021. Prior to that, I enjoyed a thirteen-year corporate career. I spent three years as a commercial banker, lending to mid-sized businesses. I spent the next ten years working at the headquarters of a Fortune 100 company. I held roles in supply-chain and buying, where I analyzed financials and trends to make buying decisions. I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from Bucknell University, where I majored in Management and minored in Economics.
