In this engaging one-time class, learners will dive into the fascinating world of the F/A-18 Hornet — one of the most versatile and technologically advanced fighter jets of the Cold War era. Students will explore the aircraft’s development, cutting-edge avionics, and its dual capabilities in air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Through a dynamic lecture supported by a detailed PowerPoint presentation, we will cover: ✈️ The scientific and technological advancements of the F/A-18 ✈️ Its role and historic significance during and after the Cold War ✈️ Key facts about the Hornet’s design, performance, and global deployment ✈️ Real-world examples of how allied nations used the F/A-18 in various conflicts Students will receive a downloadable note-taking guide featuring labeled images to enhance learning and retention. A video simulation of an F/A-18 attack mission will also be shown to give learners a realistic glimpse into its operational capabilities. Class participation is highly encouraged! Throughout the session, students will be invited to answer questions and engage in discussions to deepen their understanding. There is no homework for this class. The teaching style will be lecture-based, with visual support and interactive Q&A opportunities.

Parental Guidance
There is a video that shows simulated violence in a video at the end of the class. It is a simulated air attack and not a real one portraying a historic event of a shoot down with the F/A 18 aircraft. There is a short YouTube video in this class and you do not need a separate login for this video.

There is a two-page handout provided for the student to use for taking notes. Not graded and used only for the student.
