Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 12
Beginner Level
In this executive functioning homework help session, students will receive personalized, real-time support to complete their schoolwork while learning essential skills like time management, organization, and breaking down assignments into manageable steps.

What Will Be Taught?
This is a student-driven session where learners bring their own assignments, projects, or classwork. I will guide them in using executive functioning strategies to help them plan, organize, and complete their work effectively.

Topics Covered:
While the focus is on completing homework, students will naturally develop key executive functioning skills such as:
✅ Time management – Planning work efficiently and reducing procrastination
✅ Organization – Structuring assignments, using planners, and keeping track of deadlines
✅ Task breakdown – Learning how to break big projects into small, manageable steps
✅ Focus strategies – Staying on track with proven attention-boosting techniques
✅ Problem-solving – Developing critical thinking skills to tackle challenging work

Class Structure:
🔹 1:1 Sessions (60 minutes) – Fully customized support focused on the learner’s specific assignments and needs

How Will I Teach?
I take a hands-on, interactive approach tailored to each student’s learning style. This is not a lecture-based class—students actively work on their homework with my guidance. I provide:
✔️ Step-by-step coaching to break down assignments
✔️ Scaffolding (gradual release of responsibility) to build independence
✔️ Visual supports (checklists, timers, planners) to enhance organization
✔️ Live problem-solving and real-time feedback to keep students engaged and making progress

Teaching Style & Interaction:
I use a coaching-based approach, providing structure, encouragement, and accountability while adapting to each learner’s needs. Sessions are highly interactive, with:
🔹 Discussion-based support – I ask guiding questions to help students think critically
🔹 Screen-sharing (optional) – For digital assignments, I can provide live guidance on how to organize and structure responses
🔹 Timers & goal-setting – We use time-blocking strategies to stay on task
🔹 Encouragement & motivation – I help students build confidence in their ability to complete work efficiently

This is more than just tutoring—students leave with completed assignments, stronger executive functioning skills, and tools to work more independently in the future!

Learning Goals

Improve Time Management & Organization – Students will learn how to plan assignments, set priorities, and use strategies like checklists and timers to stay on track.
Break Down and Complete Tasks Efficiently – Students will practice breaking big projects into smaller, manageable steps and using structured approaches to finish their work without overwhelm.
