What's included

Homework
1 hour per week. Students will be asked to complete simple pre-assessments and worksheets to reinforce the strategy being taught. Students can upload video responded or upload their completed sheets via outschool.
Assessment
No formal assessments will be given.

Class Experience

Beginner Level
**Please note this is a flex (asynchronous) class. There will be no live meetings.**
During this class, students will be introduced to age-appropriate Executive Functioning skills and various strategies that can be utilized to support their growth + development. Students will learn strategies that can be implemented in various situations in + out of school to help overcome common challenges.
Learner-to-learner interaction is encouraged throughout the class with opportunities for classroom posts and replies.
Each week on Sunday, I will introduce the topic for that week. Students will then receive a link to the slides and worksheets along with the weekly task that they will complete prior to the Saturday of that same week. Learners are asked to post their finished assignment either in the classroom or, through a private message to me through Outschool.
This is an early executive function course for elementary students.  Each session discusses a different area of executive function. 
Session 1: I can plan
Session 2: I can organize
Session 3: I can use my time well
Session 4: I can start right away
Session 5: I can use my memory
Session 6: I can think before I act
Session 7: I can be flexible + work through challenges
Session 8: I can pay attention
Classes are taught using slide presentations and simple checklists via worksheets I provide prior to class but any sheet of paper will do if you do not have easy access to a printer..  This is a fun class to help younger learners develop strong executive function skills that they can build on as they grow. 
No prior knowledge is necessary to enroll in this course.

Students will develop simple strategies to help strengthen common executive functioning skills typically seen in a classroom setting. (planning, organization, flexible thinking, impulse control, simple time awareness and task initiation)
