Class Experience

I am looking forward to meeting you learners! Prior to the classes starting, parents will be provided with an opportunity to share their concerns and ambitions for their children's learning. (Please note - parents will need to give at least 48 hours notice of which topic they would like their learners to study.)

We will develop key reading and writing skills, explore grammar, learn parts of speech and language devices, and study articles, stories and poems. Lessons will be presented on powerpoint slides. The lessons will be fun and interactive, with short bursts of activities to keep your learners engaged.

Over the course of 4 weeks, parents can choose from a selection of topics listed below (one topic per class) or alternatively I am happy to choose the topics I think would be most appropriate:

a) Shakespeare’s Globe
b) How to write a paragraph
c) Reading poems
d) Write a book review
e) Creative Writing Masterclass – write a story! (using a photo prompt)
f) Perfect personification
g) Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’
h) Writing a letter
i) Describe a scene - practice descriptive writing
j) Creative Writing - famous first lines!
k) Comprehension activities
l) Amazing adverbs
m) Creative Writing – write an adventure story
n) Literature – Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales (a Canterbury Snail!)

I have experience teaching in mainstream and specialist British schools, and have worked with children of all different ages and abilities. I have also worked with a number of students who are academically gifted, with students on the autistic spectrum, with and with students who have been suffering from severe anxiety.

I am patient and kind, whilst offering a very academic approach and encourage your learner to reach their potential.

I would love to talk about how I can support your learners - please get in touch!
