-- I am very open to Schedule Requests --

I am a very experienced English teacher, and am happy to work with students of all ages.
My primary aim is to help your learner develop a confidence and love of reading and writing. We will develop key reading and writing skills, explore grammar, learn parts of speech and language devices, and study articles, stories and poems. Lessons are presented on powerpoint slides. The lessons are fun and interactive, with short bursts of activities to keep your learner engaged.

If your learner is studying for a particular exam - GCSE, IGCSE, A'level or similar - we can focus on the techniques needed for that exam. I help students study for English entrance exams and for other national examinations, so please do get in touch if you think I might be able to help.

Lessons are bespoke depending on age, need, abilities and interests of the learner, but topics might include:

a) Shakespeare’s Globe and his plays
b) How to write a paragraph
c) Reading poems
d) Write a book review
e) Creative Writing
f) Comprehension activities

I have experience teaching in mainstream and specialist British schools, and have worked with children of all different ages and abilities. I have worked with a number of students who are academically gifted, with students on the autistic spectrum, and with students who have been suffering from severe anxiety.

I am patient and kind, whilst offering a very academic approach and encourage your learner to reach their potential. I am looking forward to meeting your learner! Prior to the classes starting, parents will be provided with an opportunity to share their ambitions for their child's learning.

I would love to talk about how I can support your learner - please get in touch!

I have a Masters and a PGCE (professional teaching qualification) from the University of Oxford, and many years experience teaching. On Outschool I have been teaching ongoing group classes and a number of parents have approached me asking for 1:1 tuition for their learners. I have been teaching a multi-day tutoring class with lots of reviews: https://outschool.com/classes/individual-tutoring-english-plus-reading-and-writing-tuition-nayMzdIf?usid=VgbwYLjz&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link
Setting up an ongoing tutoring class is to allow a more flexible approach!
