Class Experience

This 4-week enrichment programme will stretch and engage your academic learner, as they flex their critical thinking muscles and develop their cultural and political awareness. We will explore Shakespeare, consider the value of democracy, and build on our essay-writing and debating skills.

Week 1: Research the lives of Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole. A reading list can be provided.

Week 2: Research the key difference between the British political system, and the American political system. A reading list can be provided.

Week 3: Prepare a short speech for the Proposition: ‘This House would hold yearly elections’. A reading list can be provided.

Week 4:  “A Midsummer Night’s Dream is not really about love, but about power.” To what extent do you agree with this statement? A reading list can be provided

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Students will receive a certificate and a short written report, outlining what they have studied.

40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
