US Grade 1 - 3
In this class we will learn how to count coins and bills. By the end of our session we will be able to successfully count individually as well as combining both different types of coins and also bills. We will start off slow with learning the different types of coins and bills and things that make them unique. We will learn how to count by 1's, 5's, 10's, 20's, and 25's to help when we are combing our coins and bills. Songs, slides, video clips, discussions, participation, and lots of visual aides will be used in our class. We will start each session with a quick review of what we learned the session before and slowly add new coins or bills to our knowledge. I will find everyone's pace and we will go how we need to in order for each student to feel comfortable and accomplished. My teaching style is one that is creative and hands on! This will be a space where each student will have the chance to work together as a group and also feel that they have my undivided attention. I cannot wait to start our class! Learning Goals
Students will learn the difference between each US coin and US bill. They will know how to identify them by their size, color, and special markings on each one to be able to tell the difference between them all. We will work on counting by different sets of numbers to make counting money easier. Once we have mastered the understanding of value to each coin and bill, we will work on combining them in many different ways. By the end of the class, they will be able to identify and count money with a lot of confidence.
