US Grade 2 - 5
In this class I will read and annotate two of my favorite folktales that have appeared on archived (and recent!) standardized English Language Arts examinations. As a dual certified ELA and Special Education teacher, I have assisted learners in achieving their desired scores on standardized examinations. Each video lesson focuses on one story and I review vocabulary terms to assist in learner comprehension and the literary elements used in the story to help build learner understanding of literary terminology. Learners will be provided with a blank assessment to test their skills before watching the video lessons to check their multiple choice answers. This class focuses on reading comprehension and multiple choice analysis questions.
Learning Goals
Learners will identify basic literary elements such as setting, conflict, and characterization while reading 2 fiction short stories.
Learners will answer 8 multiple choice comprehension analysis questions for each text.
