Design an Obstacle Course With Your Dog!
In this one time class, students will interact with their dog using a combination of human and dog friendly fitness and create an obstacle course for them!

In this one time class, we will begin with student and pet introductions. We will also spend some time discussing what our pets favorite toys are to play with! Next, we will move into a discussion of dog reflexology, specifically stress relieving points on a dogs body. Then, we will move into a fun workout for ourselves and our pups! This will involve fun movement and your dogs favorite toy! Finally, we will wrap things up by creating an obstacle course for our dogs and close with a few yoga relaxation poses!!!!
Learning Goals
Students will gain confidence by connecting and relating to their pets! They will also be engaging in thoughtfulness and kindness and will apply the ideals learned in class to every facet of their lives!
Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students will need an open workout space, footwear is not required (socks or bare feet is fine), and a water bottle (optional). Injuries can occur if stretches or exercises are not done correctly. Students are advised to listen closely to the teacher's instructions.
Supply List
Anything you would like to use for your obstacle course: pillows, couch cushions, blankets, paper plates, your dog's favorite toy, and maybe some treats are all great suggestions!

Hi! My name is Kristy Burgess! I teach a variety of classes involving positive thinking, leadership, yoga, and fitness! I earned both my Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Education (M. Ed) degree from the University of Michigan and have been a teacher for 15 years in Michigan; teaching 7-12 grades. Most recently, I have spent the past 4 years teaching 8th grade! I believe the most important thing about learning is to ENJOY it! I love seeing children excited about learning and engaged in the process! I am a firm believer that all students need their voices to be heard and I love seeing students proud of the work they have accomplished!! On a personal note, I am a sports junky! I love to watch and play sports and I am also a dog lover! I have two Golden Retrievers!!! Hank is our oldest and he is 5, and Sam is our crazy young guy; who is 1!!!
