In this 5 day camp, your learner will be introduced to the basic graphic design principles using Canva for Education to design posters, logos, infographics, and will create a final portfolio of this week's projects! In this 5 day beginners course, students be introduced to basic graphic design principles as well as how to use Canva. Each day will include a project created in Canva for Education. Day 1: Typography & Posters Learners will be introduced to graphic design theory about fonts and how to use them in designs, using Canva. By the end of this class, they will have designed a poster. Day 2: Color and Color Palettes for a Logo Learners will be introduced to graphic design theory about color theory, and color palettes. By the end of this class, they will have designed a logo using the color palette they create. Day3: Shapes and Lines & Chart Creation Learners will be introduced to graphic design theory about shapes, lines and making charts. By the end of this class, they will have designed an infographic chart about themselves. Day 4: Adding Images to a Presentation Learners will be introduced to graphic design theory about adding images to a presentation. Additionally, they will be using the other things they have learned in class so far to make a 3 slide presentation by the end of this class. Day 5: Compilation of Images for a Presentation Portfolio Learners will be introduced to graphic design theory about compiling the images they have created so far and create an animated presentation Portfolio of what they've created in class. Class is structured as follows: 1) Greetings and Expectations 2) Mini-lesson about a design theory concept 3) Learn to apply that skill in a Canva project 4) Sharing learner creations 5) End of Class announcements Learners will receive a Canva for Education link to join this class. All projects can be turned into me in the Teacher tab inside the Outschool classroom. They can also be shared weekly as a comment with other classmates in the Outschool classroom tab.
Learning Goals
Students will learn some graphic design basics along with Canva skills in typography, color theory, design, and compilation through hands-on learning projects.

Parental Guidance
Parents, students will need a private Google account Google login. I will give students a link to Canva for Education which will allow them to use more of the tools, etc. that are often not available in a free account.
