Curious about graphic design? Learn to create eye catching postcards, posters, and mugs using Canva. Go beyond just pulling together random images, through developing an understanding of the relationship between color, images, and fonts. Students will use the free version of Canva to complete a series of projects, many of which can be printed for free at home. Ms. Rae has been designing posters, flyers, websites, logos, and products for over two decades. She has had the pleasure of designing for others as well as for her own business. As a business, learning marketing has always been important to her. Ms. Amanda has an MFA in Film Production and has 10 years experience working in digital marketing.
Homework Offered
Students should plan on finishing projects outside of class if they do not finish them in class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Teacher will send a final portfolio of student work at the end of the course.Grades Offered
Students must use a laptop or computer for this course. No tablets or Smartphones.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will use Canva in class. Canva provides a free account and students will use the teacher provided account to work on their projects. This will allow the teacher to see the student's work during class. Students are also welcome to create their own accounts for personal use at home. Canva is web-based and does not need to be downloaded. This class is priced to allow us to run it even if we only have 1 student. While our goal is to help students connect with peers in an online classroom, we also aim to avoid cancelations. This class will run even if only 1 student is registered.
