Description

Class Experience

All learners will leave class with an understanding of how to lead others in a game of Dungeons & Dragons.
I have successfully taught children as young as 6 to play D&D. My goal is to make the game engaging, safe, and fun for all involved. I have spent years working on my craft, and my goal is to promote D&D as a safe and fun way for families to connect and bond in a shared sense of adventure and creativity.
All D&D 5e resources will be viewable for class purposes, but students may wish to invest in the following on their own, for maximum preparedness: D&D 5e Players Handbook, D&D 5e Dungeon Master's Guide, and the D&D 5e Monster Manual. Purchase of these books is optional for the class, but recommended for long-term play. It is also possible to begin a game with either the D&D 5e Essentials Kit or the D&D 5e Starter Set, both of which I have found to be fantastic. Those two packages include dice, rules, and encounters to get a game going with ease!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
6 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Dungeons & Dragons is a Fantasy Role Playing Game, and as such, may contain scenes of imagined suspense or combat. I will ensure that material discussed in the class remains age appropriate, and no learners will be permitted to Role Play acts of violence.
Learners may wish to purchase resources, but none are required for this class. All materials that will be reviewed in this class are available online at DnDBeyond.com, or in hardback from Amazon or any bookshop or gaming store. No physical dice or other materials are needed. We might play games on Kahoot.it, which learners can either access on a browser or through the Kahoot app, both of which are free.
