Class Experience

This ongoing class provides a safe and healthy place for learners to discuss my favorite Role-Playing Game, Dungeons and Dragons. I encourage learners to bring their questions and perspectives, as we have fun with games, activities, and discussions. I love finding ways to cover subjects such as math, creative writing, communication, and problem solving through the game's mechanics. We usually start each class with a Kahoot game, and then give the floor to the learners to decide if we should field questions, explore a topic, or do an activity together. When helpful to the class, I may use slideshows, reference material and resources on DnDBeyond.com, or use a visual aide like Fantasy Grounds Unity, which is a Virtual Table Top gaming display.

This is an excellent space to learn more about the hobby while connecting with other adventurous free-thinkers. We focus on respectful communication, so that everyone feels included and valued. We are looking for new players and seasoned pros alike. We want you to share your perspective, so please come join our table!
Learning Goals
Each week we will discuss one of the many different aspects of Dungeons and Dragons, with information beneficial to beginners and experts. We also look to offer a safe, positive space for everyone to feel comfortable asking questions and making new connections.

Playing Dungeons & Dragons with my family has changed my life for the better. I want to teach children how to play this game with their friends and family. I am excited about finding ways to explore communication, math, creative writing, and problem solving through the mechanics of Dungeons & Dragons.

I’ve been a performer almost my whole life. My professional career started with modeling at age five. I have toured the world as a singer, and performed as an actor and musician all across the United States. I left show business at at the age of twenty to pursue a career in restaurants. I’ve been in the hospitality and food service industry for twenty years, the last fifteen of which were in management. I’ve been everything from a Dishwasher to a Regional Manager. A lot of my responsibilities as a manager involve coaching, training, and educating my teams.

Fostering a culture of respect, safety, and positivity is important to me, so I promote open and honest communication, tolerance, and curiosity. I use fun and interactive tools to make my classes exciting and engaging. I encourage learner participation, lead by example, and strive to make sure everyone leaves my classes eager to come back to learn more.

I put together a game of Dungeons & Dragons with my family that includes players spanning three generations. We have been playing for a few years now, and the experience has made me realize that my life’s passion is teaching families about the benefits to be gained from this amazing hobby. I cannot think of anything more exciting or fulfilling.
