Darth Vader is one of the most well-known bad guys in movie history. Sometimes it is not so easy to tell the hero from the villain, however. Darth Vader is a fun character to analyze; we will look at some of the tools the storytellers used to portray Darth Vader as the main antagonist of the original Star Wars trilogy. My goal is to facilitate an interesting analysis and discussion on Darth Vader. This course will contain a brainstorming session, Star Wars video clips, and a character trait discussion so everyone will have an opportunity to participate! In conclusion, we will create a mock Facebook profile page (on paper) for Darth Vader based on the character traits we discussed during class. Each learner will have several opportunities to express their opinions, talk about their favorite characters, and explain their assignments. Students should have a general understanding of the Darth Vader character from the original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI).
Learning Goals
Learners will be introduced to character analysis and will improve their ability to pick up on clues that storytellers use to build characters both on film and in writing.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and thanks for visiting my Outschool profile. I am excited to share a fun learning experience with you! Learners enjoy class more when they are engaged and have an opportunity to participate. It's important for the teacher to be enthusiastic about the subject too! Whether we are learning about science and nature, literature, or automobiles; you can be assured the topic is also exciting to me!
I am a third generation educator that loves helping others discover new thoughts and ideas. While I haven’t followed the typical classroom path of my grandmother, father, and sister; I have an impressive variety of teaching experience! I worked in instructional design for more than five years developing a wide range of training materials for instructor-led and e-learning platforms. From simple math to radioactive material, I have developed effective training guides for instructor-led and e-learning platforms. I have also written scripts, and designed storyboards for creating informational films. Most recently, I was a product and skills trainer for a major automobile manufacturer. I had the opportunity to facilitate classroom and hands-on training sessions for learners of all skill levels.
I have a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a B.S. in Psychology and have had the opportunity to educate learners (ages 5 - 18) through tutoring and volunteer work for more than seven years. Learning is more fun when students are involved in the process. Lectures can be boring! When possible, students will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas. While participation is encouraged, every session is different and requires adapting to the learning styles of each student. It's important to be flexible while still achieving the goals of the class.
Whether hiking, off-roading in my Jeep, or kayaking; I love exploring the great outdoors. I also enjoy playing acoustic guitar
