In this one-time class students will take a trip to a virtual Candy Shoppe. Students will practice counting mixed coins as they choose items to buy. Before visiting the Candy Shoppe, we will review the value of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies to ensure students are comfortable with the various coins and their worth. Students will also learn different strategies for adding mixed coins. Class Structure: Introductions & Expectations Do Now - Draw It Activity Review Mixed Coins (Appearance & Value) Virtual Candy Shoppe Trip (Practice counting mixed coins) Exit Ticket & Dismissal This class will include fun visuals, interactive discussions and hands-on practice.
