Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
~~Please check dates before registering as some classes are available ONCE per week, TWICE per week, THREE times per week, and FOUR times per week!~~

Are you looking for a great way to get your pre-k child learning numbers and math equations in time for Kindergarten, or want your older child to review numbers and computations (This class is great for pre-k through 2nd grade)? Look no further. This class offers tools your child will need to be successful and confident in their math skills. Every day, learners will have the opportunity to engage with one another, learn new numbers in a specific order that they can eventually add and subtract with, and stay engaged throughout class using a variety of strategies to maintain knowledge retention.

Based off my popular preschool reading class, designed by the same company, this math course will follow a similar outline. Classes will follow the same structure each week.

+Class structure:
•Welcome song
•Introduction to number or operation through visual, song, story, and repetition
•Reinforcement of number or operation through worksheets or activities
•Activity or assignments that may be finished at home

Each class we will learn one of the three critical concepts: NUMBERS, OPERATIONS, and COMPUTATIONS in that order.

+What will be taught:
•We will focus on WHOLE NUMBERS first, then ORDINAL NUMBERING, CARDINAL NUMBERING, then BASE TEN NUMBERING SYSTEM. The students will learn that each number has a value and will be able to connect number words to quantities.
•Once whole numbers are understood we will move into OPERATIONS- addition and subtraction, as well as the symbols.
•COMPUTATION- using a multi sensory approach all children will be able to connect with how to solve different math equations; from character objects to number strips, even stickers and worksheets.

+Class Schedule for 2 days per week. This will be adjusted based on how many days per week you register for.

Week one: we will start with introducing the program then dive into learning about numbers 1-4, how to write them and use them through rhymes and activities found in the class workbook

+Learner info:
This course is great for kids who are just starting to learn their numbers. We will learn numbers 1-20 first, how to write them, and use them. Then we will jump into addition and subtraction problems. Lastly, we will use these skills to solve everyday math scenarios.

+Just for fun: We will celebrate holidays, birthdays, and fun events on the calendar, as well as take breaks for major holidays or school breaks.

+About me: I teach in a fun and upbeat manner. I love watching the children learn a new concept. We sing songs, tell stories, and have so much fun the students hardly know they are learning.

+Additional Info and Accreditation:
Our 15 Minute Math program was designed in accordance with standards set by the National Council of Teachers to prepare children for excellence in numbers, operations, and computations. No other program on the market can do better than 15 Minute Math.
