US Grade Preschool - 1
Ever dream of being a Disney Princess? Come to class and learn all about your favorite Disney Princesses through stories, songs, and fun activities! Feel free to dress up as the Princess we will be talking about, or your favorite Disney character. Learning is accomplished through the use of pre-recorded class videos (NO LIVE MEETINGS). Each week we will talk about new characters and what we can learn from them. 5 min- Introductions and singing/dancing 10 min- Story 10 min- Activity: learn to draw, make a craft, color a picture, etc. After class- Show & tell what we've made by submitting to the Outschool classroom Week 1: Mulan -Activity is paper fan Week 2: Ariel (little mermaid) -Activity is paper bag puppet Week 3: Cinderella -Activity is paper dolls Week 4: Jasmine -Activity is pencil toppers Week 5: Tiana -Activity is Mardi Gras headband Week 6: Belle- Activity is a rose Week 7: Frozen sisters- Activity is a snowflake wand Week 8: Sleeping Beauty- Activity is a crown Week 9: Rapunzel - Activity is a lantern Week 10: Moana- Activity is a Tomatoa "shiny" craft Week 11: Merida- Activity is a bear ornament Week 12: Snow White- Activity is a puzzle Week 13: Pocahontas- Activity is a feather and bead necklace Self paced classroom: Each week you will be sent a video of the class and be given a fun Princess activity to complete. Feel free to complete this during the week at your convenience and you'll be able to take a photo or video and submit it to the Outschool classroom so we can all share our fun creations with one another. I will ask you questions in the classroom about what was read during class, too, so you will be able to have fun discussions, as well as being able to finish a fun craft for the class that you can keep afterward. More weeks can be added, suggestions are always welcome! We miss Disney and just want an excuse to dress up, talk about Disney, and HAVE FUN!
Learning Goals
Students will be able to dress up as their favorite princesses and talk about them in the classroom, thus improving their vocabulary, cooperation, memory, and listening skills, as well as communicating their thoughts and feelings. I want to see their imagination and creativity through play, interactions, and the craft we complete together. They will learn the story and the songs, discuss with others the themes of the stories and their favorite parts, as well as bring home a cute and fun craft. Most of all, I want them to enjoy themselves and HAVE FUN being a princess for the day.

My name is Alyssa. I’m a Top Educator on the Outschool platform.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah State University with my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Family Life/Child Development. I have an instructor’s license as well as TESOL and TEFL certifications.
I am very excited to meet you! I have been teaching or tutoring since 2010. I love to teach fitness, music, ESL, math, reading, cosmetology, and anything to do with Disney, especially Star Wars! I am proud to be the original instructor of the Star Wars Jedi workouts for Outschool! I like lightsaber training and finding fun and cool ways to help kids get moving and become more involved with fitness! I have worked with all ages, but working with children is my favorite!
Outside of teaching I love to read, run, swim, go on vacation, and play with my children. I have such a passion for teaching and learning. I am a teacher who loves precision and exactness, while still having a lot of fun! I enjoy incorporating singing, dancing, laughter, and excitement into my classes, while making new friends along the way. It is such a joy when my students learn a new concept or skill. I am energetic and always try my best to help my students succeed. I look forward to our fun adventures ahead in learning together! See ya real soon!
