Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this Multi-Day Class, students will learn and practice the basics of coding, problem solving and critical thinking skills using the drag and drop programing language, Blockly, designed for Dash & Dot robots. Students will code Dash or Virtual Dash. Teacher will model and provide support to students as they complete puzzles using the Blockly. Teachers will monitor progress and provide extensions as needed. Day 1: Introduction to Coding and Robotics. Teacher will introduce the programming language, Blockly, and show students how to complete each puzzle. Students will learn how to program Dash over a series of 12-driving lesson challenges. Day 2: Students will continue working on the 12-driving lesson challenges and begin extension activities. Day 3: Students will enhance their skills by completing a series of extension activities. Day 4: Students will continue coding with extension activities. Students are not required to have the Dash robot, but will need a laptop or computer to access 3D robot for coding. Ipads will not work with this program. Teacher will provide class code.

Hello! My name is Cynthia Burleigh. I live in Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor in Science in Information Systems. I started my career in a banking institute, but quickly realized I wanted to become a teacher. I have been working in education for 15 years, 3 years teaching with Outschool. I am Bilingual Certified - speak English and Spanish and teach Bilingual and ESL students. My teaching experience includes: Robotics, Codings, Spanish, Pre K - 3rd grade Bilingual instruction, Bilingual Reading Specialist, and STEM teacher.
I love to teach Reading, Math, Spanish, Technology and STEM (including robotics). I love spending time with family, teaching, and running. A little fun fact about me...I run marathons for fun! I can't wait to see you in class.Reviews
