Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this beginner-friendly class, the students will use basic coding commands and procedures to make a dynamic drawing. The students will be encouraged to apply what they’ve learned to create their own artwork. Along the way, students are taught how to identify and fix common programming errors while using a problem-solving mindset. At the end of class, students are encouraged to showcase their artwork. Each week we will focus on a different coding fundamental. Week of 1/8: Variables and data types Week of 1/15: Basic arithmetic operations and coordinate system Week of 1/22: Modularizing code for reusability Week of 1/29: Using loops to repeat drawing commands Week of 2/5: Using if statements for conditional drawing Week of 2/12: Handling keyboard or mouse events Python can be downloaded and installed before class here: https://www.python.org/downloads/
Learning Goals
