This 8 week course is part 1 of Canadian Social Studies, focusing on People and Environments (based on the Ontario and Alberta Social Studies Curricula, grades 2/3). This course does not explore Canadian History, Heritage or Identity.

Class experience

US Grade 2 - 3
Learners will be able to examine Canadian and global maps, discuss the way our local environment affects our daily life, and use social studies vocabulary to communicate their knowledge. 
I am a Canadian Teacher, certified by the Ontario College of Teachers. I hold a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education with a teachable in Geography. I am certified to teach grades Kindergarten to Grade 10. 
Homework Offered
Some weeks learners will be assigned short homework assignments. Any activities not finished during class may be assigned for homework.
Assessments Offered
Learners will receive informal verbal and written feedback and encouragement throughout the course.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
We will use Google Suite (drive, docs, slides forms) in this course. Learners will occasionally be asked to respond to Google Forms or demonstrate learning in a Google Doc. Google Slides and Jamboards will be displayed via screen sharing by the teacher but learners will not be required to use them on their own.
