Class Experience

This 4 week FLEX continuing beginner piano class is for the learner who has completed Beginner Piano FLEX level 2, or is able to identify the notes on the keyboard and read beginner level sheet music (please contact me to ensure your learner is in the appropriate level!)

I know FLEX classes can be challenging for learners that need social interaction. I love to make piano fun, so I promise my videos will be engaging, short and concise, and occasionally my dog Echo as a special guest (she's a piano genius). This class is a great start for the more reserved learner that is intimidated by starting a brand-new skill.

I pride myself on my engaging and funny teaching style, turning even the most reserved learners into joyful pianists. I teach over 30 families weekly on Outschool and am proud of my extremely high retention rate in my Private Piano Lessons class.

Each week learners will submit a video of them playing the "challenge" for that week. Questions? I'm happy to send personalized
videos to your learner making sure we get on the same page. Communication is my middle name, emails will be answered quickly.

Each weekly video ranges from 15-25 minutes and have PDF versions of all assignments attached.

Week One: Welcome Back!
We enter Level 3 by reviewing a bit of what we did in Level 2 and starting our first song Spring by Vivaldi. Continued emphasis on scales, note identification and rhythm (quarter note, half note, whole note, dotted half note).

Week Two: Without Music Life Would B flat
Hello F major position! We learn a new scale - A, we learn a short piece utilizing the left hand and we complete the second line of "Spring".

Week Three: Get Bach to Business
We continue to learn "Spring". We learn about dotted quarter notes, and begin sight reading. We learn chords for some popular songs!

Week Four: Saying goodbye again?!
In our final week, we finish learning Spring. I share "chord sheets" for our favorite songs and we review our final sight reading and note reading assignments.
Learning Goals
Students will walk away with the ability to play 4 major chords and scales and read basic rhythms. Students will advance their pre-existing note identification abilities while expanding their musical understanding through the composer study (Bach).
Students will continue to advance their piano skills through weekly homework and feedback.
