In this beginner acting class, we will learn the vocabulary and various techniques of acting. Experience the power of imagination and give meaningful expression to the world around you through self-discovery and confidence-boosting  acting exercises.

Lesson 1:
Stage Basics and Acting Fundamentals
 In Lesson 1, we'll introduce you to the essential vocabulary of the stage, including terms like downstage, upstage, and stage right/left. You'll learn about eye lines, the difference between monologues and scenes, and begin exploring bodywork, breathwork, and key elements of acting such as understanding your character's desires and relationships. For homework, choose a monologue from the provided packet, record it, and submit it for personalized feedback. 
Lesson 2:
Exploring Acting Methods and Truthfulness
 In Lesson 2, we'll dive deeper into various acting methods by watching and analyzing clips from popular shows to understand the skills actors use. We'll explore the concept of "truthfulness" in acting, comparing realistic acting to presentational acting. For homework, revise and reupload your monologue after receiving constructive feedback, and memorize a short scene to practice with a grownup or friend as your scene partner. 
Lesson 3:
Show Biz, Baby! Auditioning and the Acting Industry
 Lesson 3 is all about the exciting world of auditions and the business of acting. Learn how to prepare for auditions in TV, film, and theater, including self-tape setups. We'll cover the essentials of the acting industry, such as acting unions, managers, and agents, and discuss how to find auditions. This lesson, you'll gain the skills to confidently step into the world of show business! 
Lesson 4:
The Day of the Show!
 Lesson 4, we'll explore what happens during rehearsals for a theatrical performance and on the day of a TV or movie shoot. You'll learn how to handle nerves and prepare for the big day, ensuring you're ready to shine in the spotlight. This lesson is all about bringing everything together and feeling confident in your performance!
