ASL for Advanced - Part 6 FLEX

ASL for Advanced is an exciting and interactive class for students who want to learn American Sign Language!

During this course children will learn the following signs:

- Storytelling 
- Codeswitching
- Describing School Subjects 
- Lexicon
- Advanced Classifiers Skills
- Conversations with groups of 3-4 people 
- Sign Play
- Decipher between idiomatic and figurative language.
- Adapting between formal and casual registers  
- Facial Adverbials 
- Rhetorical Comments
- Topicalization
- Appropriate Attention-Getting
- Summarizations
- Explanations 
- Personal Titles
- Fingerspelling practice
- Animal fur patterns
- Birthday Party Topics
- We will also be working on translating, interpreting, conversation skills, Deaf culture, and proper hand placements.

We will learn through games, activities, stories, demonstration, and lots of practice! 

Our weekly video will be posted on Sunday of each week. Each Friday we will have discussion questions and challenges for the students to participate in. Some of these challenges include creating videos of themselves signing, participating in ASL games, working on various projects, and answering ASL trivia. 

This course will be tons of fun!!! 

If your student already knows 1,000 signs (or more) and is familiar ASL grammar and classifiers, or has taken my previous courses, then this is the class for them! If not, then Part 1 will be a good starting point, this course is called: Learn to Sign in 10 Classes. I am looking forward to learning, laughing, and signing with your children soon!!
