This is a one-time class for students who are interested in learning American Sign Language. We will show off our favorite pets and learn the signs for the animals and their colors. This is a great introductory class for beginning ASL.
Animal Show and Sign will be an interactive class where we will show off our favorite pets and learn the signs for them. Each student will have the opportunity to introduce us to their pet. It can be a living pet or a stuffed pet or even a picture of a favorite pet so that ALL learners can participate. This is an introductory class to American Sign Language. By the end of the class, each learner will be able to sign a color and an animal together, such as "black dog" or "red fish". If everyone comes to class with the same type of pet, then we will go a little further and learn how to fingerspell the animal's names.
Please bring your favorite pet to class! You can bring your friendly dog or your fluffy cat. You can even show off your beautiful fish tank. If you do not have a living pet, you can bring a stuffed animal that your treasure. Each learner should bring a maximum of 2 pets to this class so that we have enough time to meet everyone's pets.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
