Class Description This interactive course helps learners develop confidence in short division, starting with 2-digit by 1-digit division and progressing to 3-digit numbers, including cases with remainders. Through engaging video lessons, scaffolded activities, independent practice, and problem-solving challenges, learners will build fluency and deepen their understanding of division. What will be taught? 🐝 Use short division to divide 2-digit numbers by a 1-digit divisor. 🐝 Apply short division to 3-digit numbers, building fluency in the method. 🐝 Understand remainders and how to interpret them in division problems. How is the class structured? Each week includes: 🐝 A video lesson introducing the concept 🐝 A scaffolded activity for guided practise 🐝 An independent worksheet to apply skills 🐝 Problem-solving and reasoning challenges Marking and Feedback All completed work will be marked, with feedback provided to support understanding and progress. Grade 3 Common Core Standards for Mathematics 📌 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.A.3 Solve word problems involving division within 100, using drawings and equations with symbols for unknown numbers. 📌 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.A.4 Determine the unknown whole number in multiplication or division equations relating three numbers. 📌 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.B.6 Understand division as an unknown-factor problem. 📌 CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.C.7 Fluently divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division.
