In this one-time acting class, learners will learn the basics of how to perform the theatre skill of hand puppetry, and the fantastic news is, you don’t even need a puppet to start!

Class experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
This class is taught in English.
Whilst working on this stage skill of hand puppetry we will also build the transferable skills of:
Focus,
Attention to detail,
Coordination,
Confidence building and presentation skills,

There will also be lots of opportunities to share these newly developing puppetry skills throughout the class, and receive encouraging feedback from myself, Mrs. T, as your teacher/instructor, and your fellow classmates.

I am passionate about puppets and very much enjoy using them in some of my classes with my youngest learners and making puppet videos. I have built up quite a collection of different types of puppets and have attended numerous workshops to develop my skills.

I am a fully qualified teacher (BAPA, PGCE) with 16+ years of experience teaching Drama (and some Music, PSHCE, and English) to 11 to 15 years olds and Performing Arts to 16 to 18 year olds in bricks and mortar schools, where I currently still teach part-time, including running small group and 1:1 confidence building  workshops. I also have many years of experience leading community workshop schemes (like create a play in a week) and local drama groups for ages 4 to 16.

As a professional actress, I've performed to children from ages 2-14 in theatres, arts centres, social clubs, historical properties,  nurseries, and schools. Playing roles such as the Gingerbread man and a tortoise, to a wartime headmistress and Queen Elizabeth the first! With lots of Q & A and interactive workshops along the way.

I then branched into presenting (live, events, radio, some TV, and for holiday companies across Europe) including some Voiceover work. I currently create and present drama and presenter tuition videos and have a regular podcast.

I have produced and directed many productions (musicals and plays) as well, including some I have written myself.
