3 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this class you will - -Learn more about the theory of music. We will look more deeply at different rhythms within time signatures. -Learn to play new notes. We will learn to play more sharps and flats and the notes at the upper end of the recorders register. -Scales and Arpeggios. We have already learned C, D, and F major, as we learn more notes we can play more scales. Scales are an important part of music, they help us to understand the 'building blocks' of music, and playing them helps with finger dexterity which enables us to play more quickly. -Play a variety of music. I will provide music based on your abilities, but at the same time challenging you to play more and more difficult/interesting compositions. If you have music you would like to play, let me know. -Have the opportunity to work in depth on any problem areas, ask questions, and direct your learning if there is anything specific you want to learn or work on. Music will be provided for you to practice between classes. You are encouraged to practice and identify problem areas for further study and practice in the next lesson. If there is any music you particularly want to play, let me know, we can work on it.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I'm Teacher Christine and I live in the UK with my husband, dog (Sokar) and cat (Charlie),we have a 26 year old daughter but she has her own home now. I have getting on for 23 years of experience in education, teaching all ages from 0 - 100! Yes, 100! I have experience as a childminder, a high school supply teacher, a music teacher, and an online English teacher. I have also helped in church Sunday schools and holiday clubs. I hold a BA honors degree in Humanities with a Classical Studies specialism, I love history, especially ancient Greek and Roman history and mythology.
All the classes I teach will be centered around my personal passions for:
Music: I play recorder, flute, saxophone, and piano. I spent some time living in Portugal and worked in a music recording studio while I was there and I have played in church worship bands. I am also trying to learn the guitar, but for some reason I find this difficult...not giving up though!
Greek and Roman History and Mythology: This is the subject of my degree, it is a fascinating and important era in the world's history and one which I believe children should learn about.
ESL/EFL: I am a certified TEFL ESL tutor and I have been teaching ESL online for 5 years.
It is important to me that children have fun and enjoy learning. Therefore, my classes will be interactive, positive and productive, promoting self belief and confidence in young learners that they can do it! Whatever 'it' is.
Thank you for your interest, I hope to see you in class soon.
