Then we will discuss what is happening in the scene, character motivations, possible actor choices, and different ways to present...
Some recurring themes in this class will be: -Understanding character goals and motivations. -Understanding the essence and importance of conflict/contrast. -Keys to good showmanship. -Looking at how the scene play into/relates to the rest of the play/movie/story. -Tips on how to commit to the character/lines. -How to be a good listener and therefore a good "reactor".
Garrett Young has a Bachelor’s Degree in theater, and has worked as a professional actor several times over. Garrett is part of the Elizabeth Green Communications Organization - focused on building confidence in public speaking situations.
Basic reading skills are required for this class, since learners are required to read from script pages (sample script pages available upon request).
This course is rated PG. (if it were a movie). Students need to be involved in this course: screens on and unmuted. (exceptions can be made if it is a student’s first time)
