In this multi-day beginning acting class intended for grades 3-5, students will begin to learn how they can use their three acting tools - body, voice, and mind - to tackle any acting challenge. Each day will be a mix of lessons, discussions, games, rehearsals, and/or mini performances. Students will learn how to use their bodies, voices, and minds to show the imaginary circumstances (setting, character, and plot) of their acting scenes.
Jordyn is a professional actor with a strong theatrical background. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre and has worked professionally onstage, offstage, and backstage as an actor, director, stagehand, and theatre instructor. She has worked on over 50 theatre productions and loves sharing her passion for acting with her students.
Throughout the course of the class, learners may be asked to gather some simple props or costumes. Students are not expected to have any specific piece on hand, but will be encouraged to get creative to use what they have available to them.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
