Beginner - Advanced Level
This class is an opportunity for students of all skill levels to get training that will help them grow and succeed as an actor while working alongside other young actors. We will focus on personal development as well as scene work with the group. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS COURSE In working on scenes, monologues, and cold reads, students will learn skills and techniques that will help prepare them for any acting endeavors they pursue. Some methods and skills we will discuss include (but are not limited to) - Action and Objective acting - Transference - Finding and leaning into beats - Stage presence - Audition etiquette - Partner/Group work Each lesson will start with an acting warm up, exercise, or game that will focus on a skill we can apply to our acting that day. We will end lessons with a discussion of what the students should practice before our next meeting. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW - Students will be provided with necessary acting materials - The course material builds, but thanks to the flexibility of our lessons, students are welcome to enroll at any point - Each lesson is tailored to meet the needs of the group. I will choose what topics we explore, but if the class has goals they want to work toward such as practicing and improving audition skills or perfecting a certain ability, we can definitely work on it together! Students are always free to let me know what they are hoping to gain from our lessons and I will do my best to help them achieve that. - This class is meant for learners age 16-18; younger learners should use the following link to enroll: https://outschool.com/classes/acting-class-for-teens-vfaIM63p?usid=YjJdHgoR&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link - Use code LUDLOWFTG5 to get $5 off your first lesson. Teacher expertise and credentials
I am currently attending college where I am majoring in Theater Education and minoring in English. I have been trained as a singer and actor for over a decade and want to share my passion for theater with students in ways that propel them to be better performers. When I'm not teaching or rehearsing for a show, I can be found playing games, reading, writing, performing music, and crocheting gifts for my friends.
